Sebestyén Gergely
Sebestyén is a Senior Sustainability Specialist at Preferred by Nature. He supports the implementation of regenerative agriculture and landscape-level projects in Hungary, contributing to the organisation’s wider sustainability goals.
Sebestyén oversees the delivery of the Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs) programme in Hungary. He works directly with farmers, technical experts and business partners to design and implement regenerative interventions tailored to local landscapes. His role spans from developing proposals and managing service providers to monitoring field-level progress and interpreting agronomic data.
He also helps build strategic partnerships and funding channels to ensure the long-term viability of sustainability initiatives. With experience in both agronomy and corporate agricultural sales, Sebestyén brings a systems-thinking approach to his work, bridging the gap between environmental goals and real-world operations.
Prior to joining Preferred by Nature, Sebestyén worked in several agricultural and environmental roles, including project management for international NGOs, development of carbon farming tools, and implementation of sustainable agriculture pilots. He holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering and has specialised in data-driven approaches to support land use decision-making.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to work with Preferred by Nature because it aligns with my professional focus on sustainable agriculture and digital innovation. With over a decade of experience in agribusiness and precision farming, I’m eager to contribute to an organisation that promotes responsible land use and helps drive meaningful environmental impact."
