FSC Brands Intercompany Labeling Agreement
Published by
When must a Certificate Holder (CH) have a Labelling Agreement in place?
A. CH is commissioning an FSC-certified or non-certified printer to print their label: No, you do not need a labelling agreement.
B. CH is requesting it's FSC-certified packaging suppliers to apply their own label to the packaging, in addition to the CH label: No, the CH does not need a labelling agreement.
C. CH has one or multiple suppliers which manufacture the same product on their behalf, but they want to show the CH licence code on the label: Yes, this is the typical use case for a labelling agreement.
NOTE: FSC does not provide a labelling agreement template. Download the PbN Trademark Labelling Agreement template from this page. Use this template when an FSC-certified company is requesting authorisation to use another FSC-certified company's FSC license code for product labelling. Please see FSC guidance here.
