The programme reflects a complementary approach between Preferred by Nature and GSTC through a criteria-level benchmark, with Preferred by Nature adding operational depth in climate and sustainability performance monitoring. This evolution includes two complementary levels of assurance: as a standard owner, the Preferred by Nature Standard for Sustainable Travel Activities is GSTC-Recognized, confirming alignment with the GSTC Standards for Hotels and Tour Operators; and as a certification body, Preferred by Nature is GSTC-Accredited, enabling the delivery of internationally recognised certification services under the GSTC framework.

Through the programme, Preferred by Nature supports accommodations, tour operators, and destination management companies in strengthening and communicating their environmental, social, and economic practices.
