SIG certified
The company SIG Combibloc has obtained FSC certificaction covering its four European production facilities, and may now start to offer FSC-certified packages to the marketplace.
Michael Hecker, Head of Group Environment, Health & Safety at SIG Combibloc, comments the certification:
"For us, the FSC CoC certification of our production plants in Europe is a milestone on the road to certifying 100 per cent of our plants world-wide in accordance with the FSC standards, in order to ensure for all carton packs complete traceability to responsibly managed or controlled sources”.

Hecker adds: “FSC is very much our preferred proof of traceability and responsible forestry because the standards laid down are accepted and supported by international environmental protection organizations".
SIG Combibloc is one of the world's leading system suppliers of carton packaging and filling machines for beverages and food. The company supplies complete systems including both the packaging materials and the corresponding filling machines. SIG Combibloc Group has packaging plants and subsidiaries located throughout the world, and achieved a turnover of 1,249 million Euro last year.
SIG Combibloc holds the FSC certificate with the registration code SW-COC-004130, covering four production units in Europe. The certificate was issued by the Rainforest Alliance in June 2009, based on NEPCon's evaluation of the company's chain of custody procedures.
