Stakeholder consultation now open: Help shape the future of the Preferred by Nature Certification programme
We’re updating the Preferred by Nature Sustainability Framework — and we want your input!
The Preferred by Nature Certification is built on a set of standards that help organisations improve their sustainability and regulatory performance. At its core is the Sustainability Framework — a globally applicable, risk-based, and outcome-focused set of principles and criteria. It supports responsible practices across commodities, regions, and operation sizes, and is aligned with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Described as a “Swiss Army Knife to sustainability,” the Framework is a versatile tool that helps organisations address a wide range of environmental, social, and governance challenges. We regularly update it to reflect real-world experience, stakeholder input, and global sustainability trends.

These proposed updates reflect lessons learned from implementation, stakeholder feedback, and evolving global trends. Your insights are essential to ensure the Framework remains practical, inclusive, and effective.
What’s included in the consultation?
We’re seeking feedback on:
- The revised Sustainability Framework
- All other Standards used in the Preferred by Nature Certification (PBNC) programme and sustainability-related requirements.
