Cesilla Sofie Højrup Pedersen
Cesilla works as a Project Development Manager based in Spain, supporting the development and funding of mission-driven projects within Preferred by Nature. Her role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, shaping project concepts, and coordinating proposal development to support the organisation’s strategic priorities.
Cesilla leads and coordinates the development of project concepts and funding proposals, working closely with technical teams and partners to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and donor requirements. Her work includes identifying relevant funding opportunities, supporting proposal writing, and coordinating inputs across teams to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
She also plays a central role in strengthening internal processes for project development, including tracking fundraising activities, supporting reporting, and ensuring effective coordination across the Project Development Unit. In addition, she contributes to strategic planning and supports the development of operational priorities, including work linked to regional programmes.
Cesilla brings extensive experience in managing international development programmes across Africa and Latin America, with a strong focus on human rights, climate adaptation, and nature-based solutions. She has led large project portfolios funded by public and private donors, working closely with civil society organisations, decision-makers, and local partners. Her background includes programme management, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management, combined with a strong focus on building long-term partnerships.
