Rian Heryanto
Rian works as a Project Specialist in Indonesia, supporting the implementation of the Rokan Hulu Landscape and Livelihoods Initiative. He focuses on promoting regenerative agricultural practices among oil palm smallholders, enhancing livelihoods, and strengthening farmer organisations. His role involves training farmers, coordinating with local partners, and monitoring project adoption to ensure smallholder supply chains meet sustainability and certification requirements.
Rian coordinates and implements project activities on the ground in Rokan Hulu, working closely with farmer groups, cooperatives, and local stakeholders. He delivers training sessions on regenerative agriculture for Champion Farmers and smallholder communities, monitors adoption of climate-smart practices, and supports income-generating initiatives.
He also acts as a field coordinator, maintaining relationships with partners and local authorities, facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops, and ensuring project activities meet the three key outcomes: widespread adoption of regenerative practices, improved smallholder resilience and market access, and promotion of landscape-level integrity.
Rian has 8 years of experience in the sustainable palm oil sector, including RSPO and ISPO certification schemes, and has contributed to projects across Jambi, Riau, and North Sumatra. His background combines technical expertise in sustainable agriculture with project coordination, data analysis, and community engagement.
Rian holds a Bachelor of Agriculture in Agribusiness from the University of Jambi.
