ASI joins the Risk Information Alliance to strengthen credible oversight across global supply chains
The Risk Information Alliance (RIA) welcomes its newest member, Assurance Services International (ASI), as part of its membership of five leading organisations representing key global commodities, including timber, biomass, and rubber.
ASI is a global assurance partner for sustainability standards, working to ensure the credibility of supply chains through rigorous oversight of sustainability systems. With decades of experience spanning forestry, palm oil, fisheries, and other high-risk sectors, ASI brings deep expertise in risk-based assurance and system integrity.
“As a mission-driven organisation dedicated to enhancing trust and accountability in sustainability systems, ASI is excited to join the Risk Information Alliance,” said Evi Mateboer, Integrity Director, ASI.
“We look forward to contributing our experience in integrity risk management in the context of oversight and working collaboratively with RIA members to strengthen the accessibility and quality of shared risk data across sectors.”

Launched in May 2024 and funded by the ISEAL Alliance, RIA aims to improve alignment on risk across sustainability systems and create a shared foundation for credible risk data.
With ASI on board, RIA now counts five members, joining Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Preferred by Nature, Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP), and Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR).
Together, RIA members work to streamline access to critical risk information and reduce the duplication and inefficiencies that often hinder sustainability efforts.

As a founding member of RIA, Preferred by Nature plays a central role in shaping the Alliance’s approach to shared risk data and due diligence alignment. Drawing on our long-standing experience in risk assessments and sustainability standards implementation, we contribute technical expertise and operational leadership to the development of joint methodologies, pilot testing, and the establishment of the Alliance’s governance framework. We welcome ASI’s participation and look forward to continued collaboration in support of transparent, credible and effective risk-based systems.
