Thomas Woolnough
Thomas (Tom) is a key connection for businesses and organizations in the UK and Ireland to engage with Preferred by Nature’s services. As Senior Sustainability Specialist, he supports clients in finding solutions to their regulatory and voluntary sustainability challenges, including through advisory services.
Tom works with companies through Preferred by Nature’s Sustainability Advisory service to benchmark sustainability activities, conduct commodity and country impact risk assessments, and develop traceability systems. As a UK and Ireland representative, Tom also builds strong collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships with mission-aligned companies, organizations and relevant authorities.
Prior to Preferred by Nature, Tom worked for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, co-founded a UK-based biodiversity monitoring company, and evaluated projects for several UK NGOs in the energy sector. He developed strong competencies on project design, delivery and evaluation for forest-risk commodities, climate and biodiversity.
