Our Approach
At Preferred by Nature, we see farms and landscapes as interconnected systems within our regenerative agriculture work.
Soil health is a key foundation of this approach. We also prioritise long-term agricultural performance, which depends on biodiversity, water, carbon sequestration, pollination, natural pest control, and the interactions between them.
Through a systems and landscape perspective, we support holistic, locally adapted solutions that restore and enhance soils, ecosystems, and farming communities while maintaining economically viable food production, aligned with FAO's interpretation of regenerative agriculture.
What does it mean in practice?

Our Regenerative Agriculture Journey
We began working on regenerative agriculture in 2018 through an advisory project with tomato farmers in southern Spain.
Today, we provide advisory services in regenerative agriculture across most European countries, as well as in the US, South Asia, and West Africa.
In 2026, we published our Regenerative Agriculture Standard to enable our interested partners to pursue certification.

Our services
Preferred by Nature offers two distinct pathways to address specific needs and objectives depending on where organizations are in their regenerative agriculture journey: Advisory or Certification.
→ Advisory supports organisations seeking to design, implement, and operationalize regenerative agriculture strategies and programs.
→ Certification supports organisations seeking an independent, science-based framework to assess, verify, and communicate progress and outcomes.
Organizations can choose the approach that best aligns with their objectives and stage of development.
