Federica Spina
Federica contributes to the design and implementation of regenerative agriculture and biodiversity-focused projects across Italy.
Federica plays a leading role in managing the LENs (Landscape Enterprise Networks) programme, coordinating field-level activities and engaging with diverse stakeholders to deliver landscape-level interventions that promote ecosystem services.
Her work involves coordinating project delivery in collaboration with agronomists, service providers and technical partners. She also helps drive country-level strategies, supports proposal development, and contributes to the analysis of environmental data that informs decision-making. Her experience in the agri-tech and environmental consultancy sectors allows her to bridge digital innovation with field-based sustainability efforts.
Before joining Preferred by Nature, Federica led the sustainability agenda at xFarm Technologies, where she developed digital tools to support regenerative agriculture and ESG reporting. She also worked as a Sustainability Consultant at ClimatePartner, where she advised food and beverage companies on carbon footprinting and climate action planning. Earlier roles at Maersk and Arla Foods gave her a strong foundation in project implementation, HR transformation and stakeholder engagement.
"I’ve always been drawn to transformation: whether it’s guiding organisations toward more sustainable practices, helping farmers adopt regenerative methods, or creating space for people to align around a shared purpose. That red thread has shaped my professional path, and it’s what makes joining Preferred by Nature feel so natural. Sustainability, to me, is fundamentally about change: not just technical improvements, but a deeper shift in how we think, work, and collaborate. What inspires me about Preferred by Nature is its ability to turn complex challenges into tangible progress through science-based strategies, inclusive dialogue, and a genuine commitment to impact. I’m excited to contribute to this mission, helping stakeholders navigate transitions that are not only necessary but full of possibility."
