EUDR - Tackling deforestation and forest degradation in commodity supply chains

people

The clock is ticking!

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) becomes applicable for most companies on 30 December 2024.

This regulation applies to companies placing relevant commodities or products on the EU market, or exporting them from it. They will need to demonstrate that their products are deforestation-free, and not linked to forest degradation, nor illegal harvesting and trade.

Geospatial Data Sharing Protocol

We have partnered with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to launch a protocol for managing geolocation data in global supply chains. This protocol serves as a tool to support global efforts aimed at improving product traceability and sharing sustainability information along commodity supply chains, while also meeting regulatory requirements such as the EUDR and other upcoming regulations. Using the protocol may help to accommodate the EUDR's requirements concerning the geolocation of harvesting plots.
